PowerLase® User Feedback
...by far the best laser course I have ever taken
The PIPs and Advanced Laser Prosthetics course I attended this past weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona with Dr. Enrico DiVito and Dr. Mark Colonna was by far the best laser course I have ever taken. If you own a Powerlase AT and are performing any of your own endodontics, you need to take this course! The ability of PIPs to thoroughly clean the canals is unparalleled and you will be amazed by the SEMs of treated teeth. But the best part about PIPs is that it can be easily incorporated into your current endodontic procedures regardless of the technique you use.
Having owned the Powerlase for 2 years, I did not expect to learn much in the advanced prosthetics portion of the course and I couldn't have been more incorrect. I found this material to be extremely informative, and though I may not use my laser for every procedure possible like Dr Colonna, I feel that the concepts taught have given me a much better understanding of the full capabilities of my laser.
I can't wait to take the trip up to Montana for the Advanced Perio course!

Tremendous Advantage for my Pediatric Patients
“I have been using the Lares PowerLase®
AT Laser now for a little more than a month and have seen wonderful results! I have
performed many Class I and Class II fillings, along with III's and V's, most of
them without any local anesthesia and without any patient pain. In pediatric dentistry,
this has been a tremendous advantage for my patients, as they have not had to have
injections or the resulting and usually very annoying numb lip and cheek, and consequently
do not risk biting or chewing their numb lip. There is, on occasion, a patient (the
kind that you blow air or water on their tooth and they jump) that has needed to
be anesthetized, but those have been few and far between. I have cleaned DEEP carious
lesions without any patient discomfort and without anesthetic. When lesions are
detected early and the laser is used, cavitations are more conservative, following
the principals of “Minimally Invasive Dentistry”, which makes both parents
and me happy.
I have also seen amazing results treating cold sores, aphthous ulcers, frenectomies, and sterilizing and cauterizing extraction sites. Parents love that their child is not numb, kids love not having a shot, and I love the higher quality of care that I am able to give my patients. I believe that in the future, all patients will seek a dentist that uses a laser to remove decay and treat oral pathology -- simply put, it is the highest standard of patient care!”

Incredibly Fast Cutting Speed
“The Lares PowerLase®
AT cuts tooth so fast, I’m performing crown preps with no loss in efficiency
relative to my highspeed handpieces. With the tipless handpiece, side cutting cavity
preps with the laser is now routine. This laser is truly a breakthrough in laser
performance!”
Dr. Mark Colonna
Dramatically Reduced Patient Sensitivity
“I performed my first 20 cavity preparations with the PowerLase® AT with no patient sensitivity.
Then, to my amazement, I treated my seven most sensitive patents and still no sensitivity.
Then my research at Loma Linda University showed very little pulpal temperature
change, which would lead to less sensitivity.”
Dr. James Jesse
Excellent Reliability/Low Cost of Ownership
“The PowerLase® AT
articulated arm and handpieces are incredibly reliable. And with the tipless handpiece,
there are no tips to buy and replace. This laser does what it’s supposed to:
perform when I need it to!”
Dr. Ron Kaminer
Clinical Versatility
“Having that second soft tissue wavelength- Nd:YAG- available at the push
of a button is a huge advantage for treating perio and other soft tissue procedures.
The broad range of pulse durations available for both wavelengths makes this laser
capable of any dental procedure you can imagine.”
Dr. Robert Barr
Ergonomics
“When I first saw the PowerLase®
AT articulated arm and handpiece I was skeptical. But after I tried it I knew why
they called it ‘freedom balanced.’ There is virtually zero weight or
resistance to motion with the PowerLase®
AT handpiece in any direction of movement, including rotation, so I am free to perform
great dentistry.”

"I have been using the PowerLase® AT for over 1 year. Everytime I use the laser, I am amazed at how much easier and stress free my procedures are. I am able to complete single visit Cerec procedures that even require gingival and osseous removal. I can quickly and comfortably complete composites without giving anesthetic. It has allowed me to become more efficient with the my chair time. Since I purchased the laser, my new patient flow has doubled. I could not imagine practicing without my PowerLase® AT."

"Hi Jeff,
I don't know how much you owe on your MD, or is it the Waterlase that you have?
In anycase, if Lares offers you a good buyout as they did for me this is simply
a no brainer. Get rid of it. The Biolase is okay when it works, which
in my case was rarely. But even when it is fully operational, with a new trunk fiber
and handpiece mirrors, it is a joke compared to the Lares. I've had my Lares now
for almost 3 weeks, and I can't wait to go to work now. It's a whole new world.
I've been using hard tissue lasers since their inception, I still have the original
Premier in a box at the office. The Lares is the first that really does what
I had hoped + a whole lot more. I had fear in me everytime I turned my MD
on. Sure if you were very careful, cleaned and dried the handpieces, replaced
the tips when even the slightest microscopic divot could be seen then it worked
fine. But who has the time. I just want to work on teeth, not on the
machine. It's true the girls can look after such things, but that's a waste
of their valuable time as well. If I really wanted piece of mind, I would
have to pay Schein/Biolase, $4,800 a year to keep that thing running. Well
forget that! Don't spend another good dollar on it. NTL also buys back
Lasers to resell in other countries, you may speak with them. Don't worry about
power settings, you can cut faster more comfortably with this laser then any
other. I know, I've had them all in my office: MD, Versawave, Opus.
I would have actually bought the Hoya, before the Biolase, but they gave me a great
seemed like a great deal on the MD. Well needless to say I'm grateful to Lares
for getting me out of the Biolase nightmare. Now it's all fun and games.
Especially with versatility that the Nd:YAG option gives you. Soft tissue
applications are highly superior with the Nd:YAG."

“The PowerLase® AT
is AWESOME!!! Just this morning we completed 17 (yes, 17) cervical Class V composite
restorations in 4 quadrants on one of our patients (himself a physician) in one
hour with no anesthesia. Very, VERY impressive. The preps, secondary to acid erosion,
were conservative, comfortable and the etch with no smear layer was incredible.
What a benefit; and at $195.00 per surface, you do the math on the return on investment
(that’s around $3300 for 1 hour with no lab overhead). We have also used it
for some simple soft tissue procedures with excellent results.
So far we have treated over a dozen patients: all to rave reviews. One 80 year old
exclaimed “that rocked”, another patient was in awe and told us he had
“lived long enough to see another miracle: dentistry without shots!”
Others have told us: they “can’t wait for their next filling”;
that they are “so thankful that we invest in the best technology on their
behalf” and “that was the easiest appointment I’ve ever had.”
Lares is definitely making a hero out of me: thanks so much.”

I give it a 10 out of 10!
My training went very well. Learned much new information on the capabilities of
the PowerLase AT. Instructors were very knowledgeable and willing to help. The venue
was super along with the video of the live patients being treated with the laser.
Great seminar worth every penny. I give it a 10 out of 10!

This Machine is Phenomenal
I just purchased a PowerLase from Lares Research. This machine is phenomenal. The
power and pinpoint accuracy in removing hard tissue make cavity preps effortless
but, extremely comfortable for my patients.
Periodontal work is substantially easier in all phases, including but, not limited to gingivectomies, crown lengthening, troughing, frenectomies, etc., and the patients post operative discomfort is minimal.
I have been a Waterlase user for the past 5 years, but the PowerLase is a far superior laser in all respects.

Better Patient Relationships
The PowerLase® AT has allowed me to incorporate procedures into my practice that save patients time and prevent the need for trips to different dental offices. In my opinion, learning to incorporate new procedures not only enhances our bottom line, but also creates better relationships with our patients. Providing more comprehensive treatment allows our patients to feel confident that they’ve chosen a provider who has invested the time and effort to incorporate new technology that improves their experience.
